Well done, if you’re wanting to stop smoking, you’ve made the first step by looking at this page. It’s important that this is your decision to give up and that you’re not doing it because someone else wants you to. You need to be willing to commit to the process to achieve the best possible result for you.
What’s interesting is that only 10% of the smoking habit relates to the addictive elements of nicotine, – the rest is all in the mind, which can be re-educated. 120,000 deaths each year in the UK are due to smoking. That equates to 14 deaths per hour.
Hypnotherapy is a very effective way of helping people to stop smoking. It takes a one-off session during which we explain the psychology behind the habit and how you can stop smoking for good. We will work together to remove the confusion between your conscious mind and subconscious mind about what’s important to you – your health or that cigarette. Whenever we do something repeatedly, our subconscious mind believes it (that cigarette) to be very important to us. Yet our conscious mind knows what we need to do for good health (quit smoking). Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help to end this confusion to allow you to use your imagination to create your smoke free future. During the hypnosis, your subconscious mind effectively retrains itself, to improve your will power to stop smoking. Smoking is often used as a coping mechanism for stress. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy teaches relaxation techniques and stress management skills to help clients deal with stress in healthier ways, reducing the urge to smoke. If you have high levels of stress you may like to have some general hypnotherapy sessions for stress reduction before taking part in the smoking cessation.
The one-off session will last from 90-120 minutes and includes a relaxation CD/MP3 to take home and listen to after our session. The cost is £140.
Results may vary and success is not guaranteed. The client will need to want to make the changes and full client commitment is important.
